… Ambi could feel his heart pounding in his chest as the Twisted screeched and chased after him. He didn’t dare to look back, or even think about what might have happened to the others, he was just too scared.
“Why do you run from me Hálainn. Don’t be scared, I won’t hurt you… yet.” Ambi heard the coarse whisper in his ear as he ran out of the forest. He turned to face the speaker, but looked into emptiness.
“Where are you? Show yourself!” he yelled into the night air. He gained to response as he collapsed to the groud, exhausted.
With his breathes coming in short gasps, Ambi laid on the ground and closed his eyes, remembering to worry about his friends. He knew Lini and Ragna would be okay, a Wielder of the Skill and a Shifter could easily take care of themselves. His concern turned to his friend Kuyani; Ambi couldn’t remember seeing the elf anywhere near the campsite during the attack. Could he have been captured? Or did he return to find them gone? Ambi could feel tears threatening to drop from his eyes thinking about what might have happened to Kuyani, but he swallowed his sadness and sat up. Wiping away the unshed tears with the back of his hand, Ambi opened his eyes and looked into the forest.
I have to go back. I have to find my friends and make sure that they are alright.
